Chemisorption states of hydrogen

The adsorption-desorption processes of hydrogen on platinum electrode, Pt+HaO-l-e = PtH + H2O, were studied by circulating volt-ampere method and found that there were four chemisorptions states shown as follows  [Pg.88]

The dissociated adsorption of hydrogen can be classified as homolysis and heterolysis. The dissociated adsorption of hydrogen on metals belongs to homolysis  [Pg.88]

The dissociated adsorption of hydrogen on metal oxides belongs to heterolysis. [Pg.88]

It was found from the o — M —O + Hj O M o experimental data that all metals that can chemisorb hydrogen can catalyze hydrogen-deuterium exchange reaction. The results provide a powerful evidence for dissociation adsorption of hydrogen. [Pg.88]
