Chelate light absorption mechanism

Several investigations performed at about the middle of the last decade uncovered some very good UV stabilizers whose stabilization efficiency could not be explained by either their UV-absorblng or -antioxidant behavior. These efficient stabilizers were believed to owe their effectiveness to their capability of quenching the excited states formed on light absorption (140-142).
