Che Qian Zi

Bland herbs, which promote urination and leach out dampness, can be used in relatively large doses these include Fu Ling (Poria), Yi Yi Ren [Coicis semen) and Che Qian Zi [Plantaginis semen). 

Ze Xie, Mu Tong and Che Qian Zi are used as assistants to strengthen the function of Long Dan Cao to increase urination and eliminate dampness. 

Also for abnormal vaginal discharge, add Rhizoma Dioscoreae Hypoglaucae Hi Xie), Semen Plantaginis Che Qian Zi), and Cortex Cedrelae Chun Pi). 

If abnormal vaginal discharge is due to downward percolation of spleen/kidney damp heat, add Radix Dioscoreae Oppositae Shan Yao), Semen Euryalis Ferocis Qian Shi), and Semen Plantaginis (Che Qian Zi). 

For edema of the lower extremities and scanty urination, add Herba Dianthi (QuMai), Herba Polygoni Avicularis (Bian Xu), Rhizoma Alismatis (ZeXie), and Semen Plantaginis Che Qian Zi). 

Semen Coicis Lachryma-jobi (Yi Yi Ren), and Semen Plantaginis (Che Qian Zi). 

For edema of the limbs with a sensation of bodily heaviness and lassitude, add Semen Plantaginis (Che Qian Zi), Herba Ephedrae (Ma Huang), Rhizoma Atractylodis (Cang Zhu), Radix Angelicae Pubescentis (Du Huo), and Ramus Loranthi Seu Visci (Ji Sheng). 

For edema and painful urination including prostatitis, add Radix Cyathulae (Chuan Niu Xi) and Semen Plantaginis (Che Qian Zi). This results in Ji Sheng Shen Qi Wan (Formulas for the Living Kidney Qi Pills). 

Radix Albus Paeoniae Lactiflorae Bai Shao), 15g, wine stir-fried Semen Plantaginis Che Qian Zi), 9g, wine stir-fried Rhizoma Atractylodis Cang Zhu), 9g, processed Radix Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao), 3g Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae Chen Pi), 1.5g... 

For severe diarrhea, add Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae (Bai Zhu), Sclerotium Poriae Cocos (FuLing), Semen Plantaginis (Che Qian Zi), and Rhizoma Alismatis (Ze Xie).
