This rationalization of the data, with an extreme case of charge smoothing as the driving force, is made more believable as a result of Shore s (63) placement of a proton in the one available vacancy about the base of BgHio (I-N6) to produce B0H11+ which has no such driving force [a compound predicted to be stable by Lipscomb (52)]. 

The rearranging entity has been shown to be the bivalent cation the adjacent charges may so weaken the N—N link that charges of nearly integral size may be built up in the 4 and 4 positions. In the bent, but strainless, cation the minimum separation of the two p-positions would suffice for the establishment of a lai ely electrostatic bond, which could pass smoothly into the covalent rearrangement product (benzidine).

Smoothing circuit To obtain a near-constant voltage source for the inverter circuit a smoothing capacitance across the d.c. link is used to smooth the a.c. ripples present in the d.c. link after cotiversion. The capacitor retains the charge and provides a near-constant d.c. voltage output.
