I thought originally of using Centaur, says Gareth, going toward the shelf where he always kept the tryouts and interesting failures of the current project, and evidently still does. But... 

The centaur who brought up Jason, says Gareth, taking some more bits and pieces from the shelf. His foster father, you could say. Silly reason, really. Nothing to do with typography. But still. .. Mark, what do you think of this ...

Nach diesen im folgenden Schema zusammengestellten Ergebnissen ist dem Centaur X2 die Struktur CCXXI zuzuordnen. 

Eine endgultige Bestatigung dieser Struktur fur das Centaur X2 brachte die von Bohlmann und Ruhnke (60) durchgeftihrte Synthese. 

Das als Centaur X2, bezeichnete Polyin besitzt den gleichen Chromo-phor, jedoch handelt es sich offenbar um ein Hydroxyacetat, da sich von der Verbindung ein Azoester darstellen laBt und im IR-Spektrum eine Esterbande vorhanden ist. 

Das Centaur X4 besitzt den gleichen Chromophor, das IR-Spektrum deutet auf einen Ester hin. Aus Substanzmangel waren auch hier weitere Untersuchungen nicht moglich. 

Centaur A process for reducing sulfur dioxide emissions from sulfuric acid plants. An activated caibon with both absorptive and catalytic properties is used. The technology uses fixed beds of Centaur carbon to oxidize sulfur dioxide to sulfuric acid in the pores of the carbon. The sulfuric acid is recovered as dilute sulfuric acid, which is used a make-up water in the sulfuric acid production process. Developed by Calgon Carbon Corporation in the 1990s. Calgon Carbon and Monsanto Enviro-Chem operated a Centaur pilot plant at an existing sulfuric acid facility in 1996. 

Eine weitere Cu-Verbindung ist der aus Chrysanthemum-krien iso-lierte Kohlenwasserstoff XCII 18, 61), der eine CHg-Gruppe weniger ent-halt, als das schon lange bekannte Centaur Xj (XCIII). Seine Struktur ist durch Synthese sichergestellt 42). 

Von dem oben erwahnten Centaur Xg (XCIII) kommen in Dahlia-kxXitn 54) zwei Derivate vor, das Acetat XCIV und der entsprechende Al-kohol XCV ... 

Auch vom Centaur Xj (XCVI) leiten sich mehrere sauerstoffhaltige Derivate ab, die aus sehr verschiedenen Vertretern der Compositen iso-liert wurden. Aus Tridax trilohata gewinnt man das Acetat XCVII, den entsprechenden Alkohol XCVIII, das cis-Isomere XCIX und die cis, trans-isomeren Aldehyde C und Cl 30). XCVIII kommt auch in einer Isostigma-Art 15) und C in Carduus-Arten vor.

Recovered Centaur-20% MgO catalyst was used as the catalyst. As before, products were collected in two traps cooled in a dry ice-isopropyl alcohol bath, and gases from the second traps were bubbled through another trap containing a known weight of 2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethanol cooled in a dry ice-isopropyl alcoholbath. Products from all these traps were weighed and analyzed by GC the results are given in Table 8.
