Causality condition

In this sub-Section the ineffective control elements are further analysed to retrieve the conditions causing their ineffectiveness. By checking all six types of conditions for their contribution to the ineffectiveness, the causal conditions can be identified. These causal conditions are the latent conditions. Subsequently, these latent conditions are used to explain why certain safety barriers are affected in the pesticide company. 

In the sort of self-deception that I shall discuss, a belief like that reported in (1) is a causal condition of a belief which contradicts it, such as (2). It is tempting, of course, to suppose that (2) entails (4), but if we allow this, we will contradict ourselves. In the attempt to give a consistent description of D inconsistent frame of mind, we might then say that since D both believes that he is not bald and believes that...

This simple result shows how the procedure avoids all ambiguity in the sign of the decay and enforces the causal condition of forward time. Essential is, however, the existence of the continuous spectrum. As long as the spectrum consists of discrete poles, no branches emerge and the system remains reversible but generally only quasi-periodic. 

We have mentioned the notion of causality, or cause and effect, in Kant s categorial framework and its rejection in quantum theory. In commonsense terms, when we do one thing to cause something else to follow, then this is easily understood as cause and effect . This sort of idea is quite satisfactory for laws of regularity and repeatability within simple systems. The difficulty that arises in more complex problems is that all the relevant causal conditions are hardly ever explicitly mentioned. A formal description of causality involves that the necessary and sufficient conditions (causes) on the event E be explained (effect). A necessary condition you will recall is an event such that, had it not occurred, then E would not have occurred. A sufficient condition is an event that, in conjunction with other events, determines the occurrence of E. 

Kramers-Kronig Relations. The Kramers-Kronig (KK) relations are derived from the basic causality condition that the output strain cannot precede the input stress in any physical material (13-15). These relations apply to the complex, frequency-dependent elastic moduli of any material, and relate the real and imaginary components of the modulus. With this choice the corresponding impulse response function of V[ ] is symmetric in time domain, and then it violates the causality condition. Even though the causality condition is violated, in the frame of stationary processes, this does not produce any problem since the output of Eq. 51 remains a normal strictly stationary process with PSD Sy(co) that is the target one.
