The comparison of the potential energy barriers with those corresponding to the uncatalyzed reaction shows that the AICI3 enables a drastic lowering of the barriers. Generally, the catalyst stabilizes with preference of the endo transition state over the exo one and the syn over the anti. This fact leads to an increase of both syn/anti and endo/exo selectivity (Table 1-2). [Pg.7]
