Ding Xiang [Caryophylli flos) antagonizes Yu Jin [Curcumae radix)... 

C Essential oil of Caryophylli flos (clove oil, 5) shows as major compound the orange-brown zone of eugenol (T3, R, 0.5) and the violet zone of (i-caryophyllene at the solvent front. 

Humulenes are, associated with epoxyhumuladienes derived from a-humulene as well as (-)-humulol and (+)-humuladienone, prominent eonstituents of the essential oils of hops Humulus lupulus, Cannabaceae), cloves (Caryophylli flos, Caryophyl-laceae) and ginger Zingiber zerumbeticum, Zingiberaceae). 

For severe vomiting, subtract Atractylodis and add raw Rhizoma Zingiberis (Sheng Jiang) and Flos Caryophylli Ding Xiang). 

Also for vomiting, add Flos Caryophylli DingXiang) and Fructus Evodiae Rutecarpae (Wu Zhu Yu). This results in Ding Yu Li Zhong Tang (Clove Evodia Rectify the Center Decoction). 

Also for vomiting, add Fructus Amomi (Sha Ren), Flos Caryophylli (Ding Xiang), and Fructus Cardamomi (Bai Dou Kou). 

The volatile oils of Flos caryophylli, Semen myristicae, and Fructus anisi stellati were found to exhibit penetration-enhancing activities on ligustrazine phosphate. EOs at 3%, 5%, and 7% were compared to 3% of azone, a prominent permeation enhancer. The EO of F. caryophylli showed the highest enhancing effect (Luo et al., 2013).
