Carob galactomannan, structure

Galactomannans and Glucomannans. Galactomannans are neutral polysaccharides isolated from seeds (carob, guar, locust bean, tara, etc) (140). The main chain is made of 4-y3-D-Man-(l (M) with different degrees of substitution on 0-6 with Q -D-galactopyranosyl units (G) (Fig. 25). The structure is easily determined by NMR. [Pg.6570]
