Carbon, surface, over reduced catalyst, hydrogenation

When the reduced catalyst was treated in low levels (S ppm) of hydrogen sulfide then a dramatic increase in the amount of carbon deposit was found following reaction in the ethylen ydrogen mixture. From the data presented in Figure 3 can be seen that after 2.0 hours at 625°C in a hydrocarbon environment, a suiAded specimen had accumulated over three times as much carbon deposit on its surface compared to that found on a similar specimen which had not been given the sulAde tieatmenL...
