Carbon-nitrogen-metal rings

As a continued effort to prepared hexameric systems based on the self-assembly of directed bw-terpyridine monomers, several interesting in families, e.g. 43, of iron and ruthenium connectivity have appeared 06DMP413, 06DT3518 . But in the assembly process, the creation of a three-step procedure to the novel first nondendritic fractal 44 entitled the Sierpinski hexagonal gasket was reported 06MI1782 .

CARBONNITROGEN-METAL/CARBON-NITROGEN-METAL RINGS... 

In this group of derivatives, we have included all compounds in which attachment of the substituent results in the formation of a cyclopropane ring on the surface of Cgo- The bridging atom may be carbon, nitrogen, a transition metal, or oxygen (epoxyfullerene). Basic structures for these compounds are shown in Fig. 16. The electrochemistry of representative examples of all of these derivatives has been reviewed previously [83], and only general observations are presented below, along with some specific examples of new derivatives with novel electrochemical behavior.
