Cadinanes and Calamenanes

8-Cadinene (247) has been detected in European Conocephalum conicum 87). Reinvestigation of the essential oil American C. conicum resulted in isolation of (—)-8-cadinene (247) whose absolute configuration was established by comparison of its CD spectrum with that of (+)-8-cadinene (5). [Pg.45]

The presence of calamenene (250) and 5-hydroxycalamenene (251) in Jungermanniales species has been detected by GC-MS analysis (2,334). The absolute configuration of (250) isolated from Bazzania species was suggested to be the cw-isomer (5, 4). [Pg.46]
