Cacao carbohydrate

Cocoa, as a drink, is different from coffee or tea since it is consumed not in the form of an aqueous extract, i. e. a clear brew, but as a suspension. In addition to stimulating alkaloids, particularly theobromine, cacao products contain substantial amounts of nutrients fats, carbohydrates and proteins. Unlike coffee and tea, cocoa has to be consumed in large amounts in order to experience a stimulating effect. [Pg.959]
