Bums alkaloids

Cinchonino-tetraazido-copper, [(N3 )2Cu.C) gH22-N2O.Cu(N3)2] N(azide) 28-52%, greenish-brn solid, mp-explodes mildly at 154-55° bums in flame but is insensitive to impact was prepd by creating a mixt of cinchonine, -igH22NzO [an alkaloid derived from various species of cinchona bark (Ref 1)] and Cu nitrate (both dissolved in methanol) with an aq soln of Na azide (Ref 2)... 

Benzene is a colorless, mobile liquid, having, when pure, an agreeable odor up. gr. 0.86 at 15 (59 F.) crystallizing at h-4. 5 (40°.l F.) boiling at 80, 6 (1V6. 9 F.) very sparingly soluble in water, soluble in alcohol, ether, and acetone. It dissolves 1, S, P, resins, caoutchouc, guttapercha, and almost all the alkaloids. It is infiaxnmable, and bums with a luminous, smoky fiame.
