Breathing process

The log A values of the interaction between alkali metal ions with 116, which resembles 15-crown-5 in the crown unit, are Na+ (3.68), K+ (4.62), Rb+ (3.61), and Cs+ (2.27). Whereas the log K values for 117, which resemble 18-crown-6 in the crown unit, are Na+ (3.85), K+ (5.00), Rb+ (5.15), and Cs+ (5.29). Their complexation behavior exhibited an unusual ion selectivity preference due to the presence of a breathing process of the dithia[3.3]metacyclophane moiety, which indirectly controls the ion selectivity through the adjustment of the cavity size of the crown unit. 

Any objective observation of the breath as we go about our day reveals that the mind and it s functioning is mirrored in the quality of our breathing process. When we are relaxed and in a calm state of mind, our breathing is slow and even. Breath flows gently into our body and, on a purely physiological level, muscular tension is released with each exhalation If we are nervous or experiencing stress, our breath is shallow and rapid, often disjointed, flowing in and out in a rather haphazard fashion.

Different from real breathing process that remove almost all air inside lung, this experiment does not have squeezing factor as in real breathing from thoracic cavity and diaphragm. Hence, during air release process, an amount of air will remain inside pulmonary alveolus (alveolus) that makes the displacement converged.
