Box-and-Whisker Plot Template

Place the data in a column (or row) and caU that range data. 

Compute the minimum, first quartile, median, third quartile, and maximum values. This can be accomplished by using the following 

Create a column containing the following values in the specified order Q1 -minimum, Ql, median - Ql, Q3, and maximum - Q3. This will allow the box-and-whisker plot to be properly created in Excel. 

Select the middle three items (Ql, median - Ql, and Q3) and create a stacked column graph. The steps required are shown in Fig. 8.20 for Excel 2013. The arrows provide the sequence of steps that should be followed to create the graph. The initial graph that is obtained now needs to be formatted to look like a box-and-whisker plot.
