Table 3.5 indicates which bonds break in typical polymers, with associated G values for the specific products of the reaction. The number of units of the product P which are formed for every 100 eV of radiation absorbed by the specimen is G(P). G(P) depends on the exact chemistry of the molecule, the physical state and the temperature of the material. It may also depend on the type of radiation and the dose rate.
