Catalyst boehmite based

Boehmite Based. Catalysts. Hedvall (24) has discussed the formation of cobalt aluminate from CoO and AI2O3. He has shown that a relatively fast solid state reaction takes place when the alumina undergoes a phase change, viz. y-Al203 ->rt-A Og. This phenomenon is known as the Hedvall effect. 

Some bulk cobalt aluminate formation is expected to take place for the boehmite based catalyst, owing to a Hedvall effect (24).The spectrum of adsorbed pyridine on CoMo-124 B shows indeed a weaker 1612 cm l band, comparable with the intensity of this band for the MoCo-123 catalyst. This indicates that about 25 % of the cobalt ions has disappeared in the bulk of the alumina. (Figure lid). 

The catalysts applied include sodium hydroxide [689], polymer-supported catalysts such as Dowex MSA 1 [690] or the polymer from styrol and 4-(4-chlorobutyl)styrol [691], zeolites [692], Boehmite [693], and metal-based catalysts such as Y2O3 [694], Na2W04 [695], M0O3 [696], CoYO [697], ZnO [698], and MnO [699]. 

Ziogas et al. [28] performed catalyst screening with this reactor with catalysts coatings, which were made of various base aluminas such as corundum, boehmite and y-alumina. Testing of Cu/Cr and Cu/Mn catalysts based on the different coatings for methanol steam reforming revealed differences in activity which were ascribed... 

Two porous catalysts in the form of cylindrical pellets were used industrial hydrogenation catalyst Cherox 42-00 with monodisperse pore structure (Chemopetrol Litvinov, Czech Rep. height x diameter = 4.9 x 5.0 mm) and laboratory prepared a-alumina, A5 (based on boehmite from Rural SB, Condea Chemie, Germany) with bidisperse pore structure (height x diameter = 3.45 x 3.45 mm).
