Based on extensive studies of C-H transformation with Pd(ii), Yu et al. recently achieved asymmetric desymmetrization in a CDC reaction (Scheme 7.26). ° Boc-L-Isoleucine (Boc-Ile-OH) was an effective chiral ligand for the Pd(ii)-catalyzed enantioselective C-H activation of a,a-diphenylacetic acid Na salt. The resultant Pd-aryl intermediate is considered to undergo insertion into styrenes or acrylates, followed by p-hydrogen elimination to afford the coupling product with a chiral quaternary carbon center in good... [Pg.149]

The spectral properties of a series of Boc-protected LD-alternating cooligopeptide methyl esters derived from the diastereomeric amino acids l-isoleucine and D-alloisoleucine with D-alloisoleucine as the COOH-terminal residue have been investigated (Lorenzi and Paganetti, 1977). The experimental data suggest that, in cyclohexane, the cooligopeptides (hexamer and octamer) assume helical conformations of the p type, with the same prevailing sense of twist. [Pg.158]

Tiyptophan-isoleucine dipeptide linked to PEGA resin was acylated with Boc-protected 3-(l,3-oxazinyl)propanoic acid. Exposure of the material to TEA generates acyliminium ions that cyclize to p-carbolines, with a preference for the traws-stereoisomer [355], The modified dipeptides were cleaved firom the resin with a base. [Pg.100]
