Bisphenol Mass spectrum

As an example of the form of the information that may be derived from a pyrolysis-MS, Figure 26 [69] shows the structure of the polycarbonate (PC) and the EI-MS spectra of pyrolysis compounds obtained by DPMS of poly(bisphenol-A-carbonate) at three different probe temperatures corresponding to the three TIC (total ion current) maxima shown in Figure 27(b) Figure 27 compares the MS-TIC curve with those obtained from thermogravimetry. (The TIC trace is the sum of the relative abundances of all the ions in each mass spectrum plotted against the time (or number of scans) in a data collection sequence [70].)... [Pg.423]

When the determination of the composition is not required, the assignment of mass spectral peaks can be directly carried out to establish what kind of oligomers is present. In a straightforward application, Vitalini et al. recorded the negative ion MALDI-TOF mass spectrum of a copolymer containing units of bisphenol (referred to as A) and units of a derivatized fullerene (referred to as B). The mass spectrum (see Figure 10.28) covers a wide mass range (1600-14000 Da). The peaks are due to cyclic ions of the type A B where n extends from 1 to 15. [Pg.485]

In the MALDI mass spectrum of PTMEG we see clusters of ions separated by 358 D, the expected repeat mass corresponding to a bisphenol-A diglycidyl ether (BADGE)... [Pg.35]
