Spectacular H2 images of the highly collimated, clumpy, bipolar L1448 molecular jet (Bally, Lada, and Lane 1993) show a complex structure. The H2 emission generally outlines the structure of the cooling gas behind radiative shocks produced by the interaction of energetic YSO jets/outflows with the ambient molecular gas. In this case, the knots are interpreted in terms of shocks associated with nun-wave buUets . [Pg.6]
