Biological agents containment precautions

These practices emphasize containment of the biological agent. The practices and levels of containment increase as BSLs increase. So minimal precautions are used in BSL-1 designated laboratories, BSL-2 designated laboratories use increased precautions, BSL-3 laboratories require the use of BSCs, and BSL-4 laboratories require full containment—body suits, glove boxes, and so on. If you want to learn more about these practices go to http //www.cdc.gov/od/ohs/biosfty/bmbl5/bmbl5toc.htm. [Pg.215]
