Bioassay, gold nanoparticles

Colloidal gold nanoparticles and carbon nanotubes may be used as reporting labels in immunobinding reactions on IME chips [6, 7]. These highly conductive particles make a contribution to a conductive network upon the immunobinding reaction. More appropriate when implemented in a threshold sensitivity switch in a YES/NO vs. a quantitative bioassay, these conductive labels once assembled on the surface provide a very sensitive electrical means for reporting the equilibrium binding condition. [Pg.1373]
