Bidentates thioether donor groups

Bulky sulfur counterparts (see Figure 8) preceded the (phosphino)borates and are known for tri- 8a and bidentate 8b ligands. " These ligands are particularly noteworthy as thioether auxiliaries because neutral thioether donors commonly suffer from high ligand lability. Riordan s group has made use of these (thioether)borate derivatives, as well as pyrazolyl/thioether hybrid borates 8c and 8d, in the preparation of a suite of interesting late metal complexes.
