Calcium, strontium, and barium cyclopentadienides, e.g. (C5Hs)2Ca, are known and may have ionic constitutions. The bright red bistriphenyl-methyl of calcium, Ca(THF)..,6(Ph3C)2, appears to be a salt. [Pg.42]

An interesting variant of metallocenes is the tripledecker (/Pr)4Cp cotBa2 (cot = cyclooctatetraene), shown in Fignre 6. This centrosymmetrical compound displays a 7T-coordinated central cyclooctatetraene to two barium atoms, which complete their coordination sphere by two tetraisopropyl-snbstituted cyclopentadienides. [Pg.5331]
