Azoxyiodides from iodoxy- and iodoso-nitro compounds. m-Iodoxynitrobenzene mixed with acetylene black, moistened with enough 1 M Mg-bromide soln. to form a cake which is spread on a graphite cup serving as cathode and held in place by a thin sheet of Dynel, electrolyzed with a Zn-plate anode and neutral 1 M Mg-bromide soln. as electrolyte at a current of 0.5 amp. until the first Hg-bubbles appear at the cathode 3,3 -diiodoazoxybenzene.
