Azides antimony halides

EXPLOSION and FIRE CONCERNS moderate fire and explosion hazard in forms of dust and vapor when heated or on contact with acid, emits toxic fumes of SbH3 electrolysis of acid sulfides and antimony halides yields explosive antimony reacts violently with ammonium nitrate, halogens, bromine azide, chloric acid, chlorine oxide, chlorine trifluoride, nitric acid, potassium nitrate, potassium permanganate, potassium peroxide, sodium nitrate, and oxidants use appropriate extinguishing media for firefighting purposes. [Pg.412]

AMMONIA GAS (7664-41-7) Anhydrous, compressed gas or cryogenic liquid. Difficult to ignite, but can detonate in confined spaces in fire. Reacts violently with strong oxidizers, acids (nitric, hydrochloric, sulfuric, picric, hydrobromic, hydrochlorous, etc.). Shock-, temperature-, and pressure-sensitive compounds are formed with antimony, chlorine, germanium compounds, halogens, heavy metals, hydrocarbons, mercury oxide, silver compounds (azides, chlorides, nitrates, oxides). Fire and/or explosions may be caused by contact with acetaldehyde, acrolein, aldehydes, alkylene oxides, amides, antimony, boron, boron halides. [Pg.94]

Fluorophosphoranes can be obtained from phosphonous and phosphinous halides by reactions with arsenic or antimony obtained with KHF2 (6.518). Some phosphinous halides react with sulphur compounds to give phosphinothioites (9.420), with phenyl azide to give monophosphazenes (7.447), and with ylids fluorides (6.504, 6.505). Hydrofluorophosphoranes produces phosphonium salts (6.377). Phosphonous and phosphinous halides can be condensed to form polyphosphines or cyclic derivatives (6.660, 6.666,6.680,6.684), or reacted to give P-P linkages (6.737). [Pg.354]
