Aventis Environmental Sciences

In 2001, Sumitomo Chemical acquired the household insecticide business of Aventis Environmental Sciences. The predecessor of this conq)any was the environmental health business of Schering, Roussel Uclaf, and Wellcome. As a result of this acquisition, Sumitomo Chemical succeeded in building a strong position as a principal manufacturer in the environmental health field. Other major makers include Bayer CropScience, Syngenta, and FMC.
