Attachment as Acetals

Mixed acetals of a support-bound and a non-support-bound alcohol with acetaldehyde have also been used as linkers (Entry 3, Table 3.33). Such acyclic mixed acetals are, however, not easy to prepare on solid supports and are more conveniently synthesized by conventional solution-phase chemistry and then loaded onto the support [Pg.107]

Resin-bound aldehydes and ketones have been used as linkers for 1,2- and 1,3-diols (Entries 4-6, Table 3.33). Cleavage of acetal-based linkers is usually effected by acid-catalyzed transacetalization or by hydrolysis. [Pg.109]
