At Consecutive Multiples

Consecutive integers are lists of integers that have a common difference between the terms. Odd and even numbers have a common difference of two between each term. Multiples of three have a common difference of three between the consecutive terms, and so on. [Pg.162]

The Problem The sum of four consecutive odd numbers is 64. What are the numbers  [Pg.163]

The Problem The sum of five consecutive even integers is 100. What is the difference between the largest and the smallest of these integers  [Pg.163]

In the previous problem, you really didn t need to find the even numbers in the list. If you have five consecutive even integers, they re always n, n + 2, n + 4, n + 6, and n + 8, no matter what n is. The difference between the largest and the smallest is (n + 8) - n = 8. [Pg.163]
