Assignments of H Spectra

The proton NMR spectra of three related compounds, phenothiazine, 10-methylphenothiazine, and 2-chlorophenothiazine were obtained and analyzed for chemical shift comparison. Phenothiazine and 10-methylphenothiazine exhibit 2 symmetry, which greatly simplified the spectral assignment. Our assignments on these two compounds are in agreement with those of Fronza and co-workers, who reported the 

The assignments of the chemical shifts of CPZ HCl in DMSO- / and CPZ HCl and CPZ base in CDCI3 were carried out in a similar manner (Table 2). Table 3 lists the coupling constants observed for the aromatic protons of CPZ HCl.
