Aspidosperma olivaceum

Ellipticine is therapeutically used as an antineoplastic. Ellipticine and the structurally related alkaloid olivacine, which is obtained from Aspidosperma olivaceum (138) and other species of Aspidosperma, are considered to be biosynthesized via stemmadenine N-oxide by the fragmentation-addition process (69,122).
