As2-Bidentates

The crystal and molecular structure of [5,(Sas,5as)]-( + ) 83 has been determined. The structural analysis provided the absolute chirality of the cation and of the three stereogenic centres present, including the carbon of the ort/io-metalated (5)-(—)-dimethyl-(a-methylbenzyl)amine, which had been established previously on the basis of CD and ORD measurements .  

The phosphorus analogue of 75 has been synthesized, separated into diastereomers and resolved by a similar strategy to that employed for the arsine . 

The bidentate l-amino-2-(methylphenylarsino)ethane (87) was resolved by separation of the diastereomers (R,Ras) ( + ) The absolute configurations of
