Arylphosphonic dihalides

All of the ramifications of this process are not yet explored, but it suggests that attempted synthesis of mixed tertiary phosphine oxides via reaction of arylphosphonic dihalides or diarylphosphinic halides with alkyllithium reagents might be complicated by side reactions.
