Similarly, enantiomeric mixtures of carboxylic acid esters can be separated using transesterification (Fig. 22). An n-butanol/water biphasic medium aryloxypropionic acid methyl ester vras transesterified stereoselec-tively, yielding the butylester of the R enantiomer (69).
