Aryloxide macrocyclic

Macrocyclic 1,2-diazines were also investigated as ligands <2000AGE1968>. Especially interesting is the reaction of 1,2-diazines (pyridazine 26, phthalazine, and benzo[clcinnoline) with tungsten(ii)aryloxide complexes 33 as the N-N bond is cleaved (Equation 6) <2002CC2482>.

Clusters of lanthanide alkoxides, aryloxides, and macrocyclic polyaryloxides... 

Sterically crowded multidentate, macrocyclic aryloxide ligands tend to engender different chemistry as a result of the constrained and more rigid disposition of their aryloxide moieties in the macrocyclic structure. The linking group between the individual aryloxide imits within the macrocycle may also participate in synergetic metal coordination. 

It is clear from the chemistry of lanthanide clusters based on aryloxide ligands that lanthanide coordination chemistry can be further developed by having recourse to other fimctionalized aryloxide ligands. In this context, the use of constrained, macrocyclic polyaryloxide ligands such as calixarenes or their sulfur-containing analogues appears intriguing.
