Arenaceous limestone

Arenaceous limestone contains significant amounts of particles of silica sand. 

The Tuscan units consisting of Late Triassic to early Miocene sedimentary rocks (conglomerates, evaporites, limestones, marls and arenaceous flysch) overlying the metamorphic basement, and affected by Alpine metamorphism in some places (e.g. in the Alpi Apuane). 

Sedimentary rocks (i) agrillaceous rocks, 77% (shale) (ii) arenaceous rocks, 13% (limestone/dolomite).
