Are Phosphate Fibers Carcinogens

I had hardly demonstrated that useful sodium and calcium phosphate fibers could be made before their safety was questioned. The first to question their safety was a business school type, vice president. He was in the audience when I made the first public disclosure of phosphate fibers within our company. 

The Vice President approached me, the one who ultimately controlled our research money, and asked How do you know they don t cause cancer  

I was insulted. I answered, If they are unsafe, they are the first sodium or calcium polyphosphate to be unsafe.  

He countered, That s what THEY said about asbestos.  

The VP knew nothing about asbestos and less about polyphosphates, but business schools had told him that he didn t have to know nothin about nothin, to manage everthing. He believed it.
