Appendix Calculation of Approximate in Vivo Rates of Xenobiotic Metabolism 

Metabolism of 2,2 -dichlorobiphenyl (DCBP), 2,5,4 -trichlorobiphenyl (TriCBP) and 2,4,6,2 4 -pentachlorobiphenyl (PCBP) by Nereis virens (from Goerke and Ernst 1977 and Ernst et al. 1977). 

Mean weight of N. virens was 6.0 g wet wt. (calculated from Table 2 of Goerke and Ernst 1977). Accumulated polar material after 2 weeks exposure = (0.14 + 0.92) X2 fig equivalents per worm (from Table 1 of Ernst et al. 1977).
