Approaching a nearly Free Silylium Ion in Solution

In view of the discussion in the previous sections, the goal of generating a nearly free silylium ion in solution can only be realized if the following criteria are fulfilled  

In the following, we will discuss the possibility of generating nearly free silylium ions under the conditions of external solvation where special emphasis is laid on stepwise introducing conditions (1) - (6) to see which effects are most important for the realization of a free silylium cation in solution.
