The catalytic activities for ROMP of cyclooctene of isolated indenylidene complexes XV-XVII were evaluated in chlorobenzene (Table 8.3). [Pg.261]

Catalyst XV promoted the cyclooctene ROMP with an extremely low catalyst loading (30 000 1) reaching a TOF of 9200 min (Table 8.3, entries 1,2) but its activity decreased at a ratio 100000 1. The catalyst containing P Pr3 XVI showed excellent activity whereas, as expected, complex XVII with the poor electron donor and less bulky phosphine PPh3 showed low activity. [Pg.261]

Catalyst XV was also able to polymerize qrdopentene at extremely low loading (qrdopentene Ru = 10 000 1). Whereas at room temperature after initial gelifica-tion, due to polymerization, a decrease in viscosity was observed, at low temperature, —40 °C for 1 h, 98% of cydopentene polymer could be obtained. [Pg.262]
