Application of the NFC Method to Aperiodic Polypeptides and Polynucleotides

It is well known that both DNA and proteins are aperiodic, so in order to treat their electronic structure one must apply the theory of disordered systems. 

We consider first disordered single DNA helices. Simple (tight-binding) NFC calculations have been performed for the valence-band
