Structural differences of the apolipoproteins are also found, but there are close similarities between some species for example, several of the apolipoproteins in the common marmoset and man are similar (Crook et al. 1990). The apolipoprotein-E structure of the rat is similar to that of humans, but the plasma levels are 5 to 10 times higher (Leininger-Muller and Siest 1996).
