This category of metabolite is actually very little represented among polycHnid timicates, as the only non-nitrog-enous macrolides currently known are limited to bryostatins 4 and 5, which have been identified in the species Aplidium califomicum harvested in the Gtilf of California and are known to be of symbiotic origin (Pettit et al, 1986) (see Chapter 22). [Pg.1668]
