Anthralin cream

The anthralin cream 1.0% USP is a smooth, yellow cream containing 1% anthralin USP in an aqueous cream base of glyceryl monolaurate, glyceryl monomyristate, citric [Pg.102]


Because anthralin exerts its clinical effects at low cellular concentrations, therapy usually starts with low concentrations (0.1% to 0.25%) with gradual increases to higher concentrations (0.5% to 1%). Cream and ointment formulations are usually applied in the evening and allowed to remain overnight. [Pg.204]

Anthralin traditionally was formulated in stiff paste bases to provide adherence to plaques. Subsequently, cream and ointment formulations have been developed that are more cosmetically appealing and appear to be equivalent in efficacy.
