Material anisotropy

The TEM image in the figure shows particles less than 10 nm in size corresponding to a coercivity of 7 kOe. The values of coercivity here do not approach those expected for the anisotropy of pure SmCo5 phase due to alloying with the tungsten. When multilayered with Cr the coercivity reaches 30 kOe for similar particle sizes [11]. These high anisotropy materials like FePt and SmCos are very sensitive to composition as will be discussed in the next section. [Pg.197]

The experiment can also be performed with a magnetic field and a negative diamagnetic anisotropy material like a discotic nematic, see 6.5.)... [Pg.137]

The 2D analysis simulates better the real conditions since it takes into consideration material anisotropy, material non-linearity and a variety of additional restrictions. Unfortunately, the 2D analysis cannot include the non-uniform wheel loading and the multiplicity of the axial loads. [Pg.505]
