Polymer with side anisodiametric groups

In this paper, we shall dwell on approaches to creating liquid crystalline polymers of the latter type. As far as the first three systems are concerned, their description can be found in Refs. (12-13) and the cited references. [Pg.34]

Polymers with side anisodiametric groups modeling the molecular structure of low-molecular liquid crystals csm be obtained either through synthesis of monomers with liquid crystalline (mesogenic) groups with subsequent polymerization or throui chemical attachment of molecules of low-molecular liquid crystalline compounds to a polymer chain by way of polymer-analogous transformations. As can be inferred from the bulk of works dealing with this problem, at present, the first of these two methods is used in most cases. [Pg.34]

If some monomers do in fact exhibit liquid crystal properties, the polsrmers obtained on their basis are rigid substances featuring high softening points wi- [Pg.34]

It should be noted that Ref. (22)describes synthesis of cholesterol esters of poly -acryloyl- -aminocarbonic acids through addition of cholesterol to the macromolecules of poly-N-acryloyl--aminocar- [Pg.36]
