Also known as "seco-aporphines", the PHENANT is a very rare type of alkaloid. The total number of compounds isolated in this class is less than 20. They are distributed in the families, Annonaceae, Aristolochiaceae, Lauraceae, Menispermaceae, Monimiaceae and Ranunculaceae.
