Angiotensin II blockers

ACE inhibitors and angiotensin II blockers used to treat hypertension are listed in Table 21-5. These drugs have been shown to be effective in many cases of mild-to-moderate essential hypertension, and they may be used alone or in combination with beta blockers or diuretics. 

Angiotensin II blockers are likewise well tolerated these drugs do not cause the cough associated with ACE inhibitors.64 Hence, angiotensin II blockers may be an effective alternative in patients who experience side effects such as coughing.13...
