Osmundalin (826) has been isolated from Osmunda japonica and O. regalis var. spectabilis 459 and its diastereoisomer angiopteroside (827) from the rhizome of Angiopteris lygodiifolia 460, 461). Recently, three compounds 823, 824 and 825, which had originally been prepared by synthesis, were isolated from Osmunda japonica. These compounds are active as antifeedants on the larvae of yellow butterfly, Eurema he-cabe mandarina (457, 458). [Pg.94]
